A woman brought a very limp duck into a veterinary surgeon. As she laid her pet on the table, the vet pulled out his stethoscope and listened to the bird’s chest. After a moment or two, the vet shook his head and sadly said, “I’m sorry, ma’am, you duck has passed away.”

“Are you sure?” the distressed woman wailed.

“Yes, I am sure. Your duck is dead,” he replied.

“How can you be so sure?” she protested. “I mean you haven’t even done any testing… he might just be in a coma.”

The vet rolled his, turned, and left the room. He returned a few minutes later with a black Labrador retriever. As the lady looked on in amazement, the dog stood on his hind legs, put his front paws on the exam table and sniffed the duck top to bottom. He looked up at the vet with sad eyes and shook his head.

The vet patted the dog on the head and took it out of the room. A few moments later he returned with a cat. The cat jumped on the table and delicately sniffed the bird from head to foot. The cat sat back, shook its head and meowed and softly strolled away.

The vet looked at the woman and said, “I’m sorry, but as I said this is most definitely, 100% certifiably, a dead duck.”

The vet turned to his computer, hit a few keys and produced a bill, which he handed to the woman.

She took the bill, still in shock. “$1500!” she cried. “$1500 just to tell me my duck is dead!”

The vet just shrugged, “I’m sorry, but if you would have just taken my word for it, it would have been $20. With the Lab report and the Cat Scan, it is now $1500.”

** A little boy opened the big family Bible. He was fascinated as he fingered through the old pages. Suddenly, something fell out of the Bible. He picked up the object and looked at it. What he saw was an old leaf that had been pressed in between the pages. “Mama, look what I found,” the boy called out. “What have you got there, dear?” With astonishment in the young boy’s voice, he answered, “I think its Adam’s underwear.”

Buyer attendance was a little thin today as many people are trying to harvest. Demand for good alfalfa is strong and demand for average to poor alfalfa is steady. Grass continued to sell weak as not many calves are coming into the yards yet. Overall hay quality today was average at best with many loads of poor grass and some prevent planted hay. ** A brunette goes into a doctor’s office and says that her body hurts wherever she touches it. “Impossible” says the doctor. “Show me.” She takes her finger and presses on her elbow, and screams in agony. She pushes her knee and screams, pushes her ankle and screams and so it goes on; everywhere she touches makes her scream with pain. The doctor says, “You’re not really a brunette are you?” She says, “No, I dyed my hair. I’m naturally blonde.” “I thought so,” he says. “Your finger is broken.”
