Today we had a nice size buying crowd. The grass hay sold steady to stronger. The alfalfa sold steady to weaker. The quality today was mostly mid-range with much better demand for the better hay. Today the buying crowd was a good size. The market was generally steady to weaker. The alfalfa that was average quality was lower today but the better alfalfa sold fully steady. The grass was also slightly lower. Bedding was mostly steady.
The Rock Valley Hay Auction CO. is happy to announce that we have found a new location! We are no longer accepting hay at our current location. In preparation for our new location, we will not be accepting any hay to be dropped off and we will not be having an auction on August 29th. We plan on having our first auction at the new location on September 5th at 12:30 (3110 Eagle Ave). Please watch our Facebook page for more information about when we will be accepting hay.

I saw a homeless man & asked him if I gave him $20 would he buy beer? He said no he hadn’t had a beer in years. Then I asked him if I gave you $20 will you buy car parts? He said no, he got rid of his racecar 15 years ago. So, then I said I’ll do you better than $20.. I’ll take you home & get you all cleaned up; my wife will cook a fantastic meal for you then I’ll bring you back & still give you $20! He asked me, “won’t she get mad?” I said it didn’t matter. I just wanted her to see what happens to a man when he stops drinking & building race cars.
