The alfalfa sold uneven but generally steady. The quality was only about average on most loads. The grass quality was largely average at best and sold steadily to stronger, with the buyers very picky on quality. The crowd size was good, and we had a nice sale at our new location. Thank you all for your patience with us over the last two and half months.

Today the buying crowd was a good size. The market was generally steady to weaker. The alfalfa that was average quality was lower today but the better alfalfa sold fully steady. The grass was also slightly lower. Bedding was mostly steady.

The Rock Valley Hay Auction CO. is happy to announce that we have found a new location! We are no longer accepting hay at our current location. In preparation for our new location, we will not be accepting any hay to be dropped off and we will not be having an auction on August 29^th. We plan on having our first auction at the new location on September 5^th at 12:30 (3110 Eagle Ave). Please watch our Facebook page for more information about when we will be accepting hay.

I saw a homeless man & asked him if I gave him $20 would he buy beer? He said no he hadn’t had a beer in years. Then I asked him if I gave you $20 will you buy car parts? He said no, he got rid of his racecar 15 years ago. So, then I said I’ll do you better than $20.. I’ll take you home & get you all cleaned up; my wife will cook a fantastic meal for you then I’ll bring you back & still give you $20! He asked me, “won’t she get mad?” I said it didn’t matter. I just wanted her to see what happens to a man when he stops drinking & building race cars.
