** If you see a fat man…
Who’s jolly and cute,
wearing a beard
and a red flannel suit,
and if he is chuckling
and laughing away,
while flying around
in a miniature sleigh
with eight tiny reindeer
to pull him along,
then let’s face it,
Your eggnog’s too strong!

Today’s sale brought good buyer attendance with alfalfa selling mostly steady.  Overall the quality was decent.  Grass market was a little low with a lot of average quality grass.  Straw was a little weaker and cornstalks were steady.

*Hospital regulations require a wheel chair for patients being discharged. However, while working as a student nurse, I found one elderly gentleman sitting already dressed on his bed with a suitcase at his feet, who insisted that he didn’t need my help to leave the hospital. After a chat about rules being rules, he reluctantly let me wheel him to the elevator. On the way down, I asked him if his wife was meeting him. “I don’t know,” he said. “She’s still upstairs in the bathroom changing out of her hospital gown.”

**Last Christmas, Grandpa was feeling his age, and found that shopping for Christmas gifts had become too difficult.  So he decided to send checks to everyone instead.  In each card he wrote, “Buy your own present!”  and mailed them early.  He enjoyed the usual flurry of family festivities, and it was only after the holiday that he noticed that he had received very few cards in return.  Puzzled over this, he went into his study, intending to write a couple of his relatives and ask what had happened.  It was then, as he cleared off his cluttered desk that he got his answer.  Under a stack of papers, he was horrified to find the gift checks which he had forgotten to enclose with the cards.
