Alfalfa sold steady to a little weaker on lower quality. Quality was generally pretty good. Grass sold a little stronger and buyer interest was good. There was not really enough straw for a good test. The load of cornstalks was new. DON’T FORGET: Monday sales will be starting again in November!! ** A trooper pulls over a priest and immediately smells alcohol on his breath. The next thing he notices is an empty wine bottle lying on the passenger seat. “Have you been drinking?”  the officer asks. “Just water,” says the priest. “Then why do I smell wine?” The priest looks at the bottle and shouts, “Good Lord! He’s done it again!”

Buyer attendance was a little thin today as many people are trying to harvest. Demand for good alfalfa is strong and demand for average to poor alfalfa is steady. Grass continued to sell weak as not many calves are coming into the yards yet. Overall hay quality today was average at best with many loads of poor grass and some prevent planted hay. Straw sold about steady with lacking quality. DON’T FORGET: Monday sales will be starting again in November!! ATTENTION ALL HAY HAULERS: Beginning Sept 5th, the road through Hudson will be closed and you will not be able to get through that way. It will remain closed for the month of September.

** A brunette goes into a doctor’s office and says that her body hurts wherever she touches it. “Impossible” says the doctor. “Show me.” She takes her finger and presses on her elbow, and screams in agony. She pushes her knee and screams, pushes her ankle and screams and so it goes on; everywhere she touches makes her scream with pain. The doctor says, “You’re not really a brunette are you?” She says, “No, I dyed my hair. I’m naturally blonde.” “I thought so,” he says. “Your finger is broken.”
