Morris and his wife Esther went to the state fair every year, and every year Morris would tell his wife, “Esther, I’d like to ride in the helicopter.” Esther always replied, “I know Morris, but that ride is fifty dollars and fifty bucks is fifty bucks.” One year Esther and Morris went to the fair and Morris said, “Esther, I’m 85 years old. I am going to ride that helicopter before I never get the chance.” To that replied, “Morris, fifty bucks is fifty bucks.” The pilot overheard their conversation and said, “I’ll make you folks a deal. I will take both of you on a ride. If you can stay quiet the entire time, I will give you the ride for free. But if you say one word, its fifty dollars.” Morris and Esther agreed and they went up. The pilot did all sorts of tricks and fancy maneuvers, but not a word. He did his daredevil tricks over and over again, but not a peep. When they landed, the pilot turned to Morris and said, “By golly, I did everything I could to get you to yell out, but you didn’t. I’m impressed.” Morris replied, “Well, to tell you the truth, I almost said something when Esther fell out, but ya know, fifty bucks is fifty bucks.”

We had a nice run today. Generally quality was lower. We had a lot of hay that had some moisture after it was baled due to recent rains. Some 2nd cutting alfalfa that had been rained on. Same hay as last week sold $5-10 lower, the rest of the hay was lower quality. Grass sold generally steady. The new straw looked really good and sold moderately well with not much interest.
